地拉那5月28日电（记者章亚东）据阿尔巴尼亚通讯社报道，阿尔巴尼亚前总统尼沙尼因感染新冠病毒引发的并发症于28日在德国一家医院去世，享年55岁。
据报道，数月前，尼沙尼在感染新冠病毒后曾在阿首都地拉那一家医院接受治疗。
阿尔巴尼亚总统梅塔在社交媒体上说，尼沙尼因其对国家作出的贡献将永远被铭记，他是一位正直和具有远见的领导者。
尼沙尼毕业于阿尔巴尼亚军事学院，曾担任阿司法部长和内务部长，2012年7月至2017年7月担任阿总统。
